Pan American Health Organization / Communicable Disease Division: Assists countries in the implementation of supporting actions which are needed for the effective response to a pandemic situation.
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention / Naval Medical Research Center: Provides technical assistance and training in surveillance, study protocols, laboratory skills (in vitro studies, molecular markers, and blood level measurement), rapid diagnostic tests, and entomology at both subregional and country levels.
Academy for Educational Development (AED) - AI.COMM: Provides technical assistance to develop communication materials to support communication activities related to avian influenza prevention, control and outbreak response.
Stamping Out Pandemic and Avian Influenza (STOP AI): A USAID supported project that works to mitigate the health, economic, and social impacts of an avian influenza outbreak and assists the ministries of health in pandemic preparedness and response.
Management Sciences for Health (MSH): Partner of the STOP AI project that works to strengthening preparedness and planning to detect and contain avian influenza outbreaks in both poultry and humans.
Technical Assistance to Non-Governmental Organizations (TANGO): Provides technical assistance to develop tools and guidelines on responding to food and livelihood security during a pandemic situation to enable municipal authorities and response leaders, as well as the national and sub-national disaster authorities, to improve response capabilities.
Links Media: Provides editorial support to the development of a pandemic influenza preparedness and response toolkit. Develops communication and dissemination strategies, tools and materials to convey critical information and increase awareness among target groups.
